What stirs your affections most for Christ?

The simple but powerful story of The Gospel stirs me up every time I hear it.  My affections for Christ are stirred when I reflect on the Lords faithfulness through my weakness.

“Lost in sin, from hope we were running, but God came quick!  Oh, so loving!  He sought us after the fall, a broken people he saw, and Father God sent his son to die for us!  INSANITY!  The perfect Lamb of God died for all humanity!”

How do you function as a part of your church?

I currently serve as the Fellowship Ministry Leader at Lake Highlands Church where I create and organize a space for friends to become family.  I serve on the worship team as a spoken word artist, and when called upon I speak into the vision of various ministries.

As a member of this community of believers I have learned a lot through sharing life and growing with people in Life Group.  It is a place that I can be completely transparent and loved well right where I am.

What does "In Dallas As It Is In Heaven" mean to you?

Lord, may your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.

It looks like a body of believers living out the Gospel call alongside other church communities in their neighborhood.  It means Dallas would be a place filled with worship and prayer.  It looks like churches and non-profits working together so everyone goes without need knowing they are seen and loved.  It means people take the gospel seriously.

Who has most helped you look more like Jesus?

My parents, Cliff and Letishi Gunnels, introduced me to Jesus.  They encourage me to trust God daily and follow the Holy Spirit wherever he leads.

In my life I’ve had various men and women help me understand what it looks to be more like Jesus.  But, Robby Hare is that one friend who has been by myside for over 20 years. He is my best friend and armor bearer through all of life’s ups and downs.  We have grown together through a lot of life’s challenges.  We have a lot of fun living together, and are intentional on calling one other up to a higher standard of biblical manhood.  Robby has helped me look more like Jesus most, because all that I learn from others eventually gets filtered down to a conversation with him.
