Why is it called 72?

“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” | Luke 10:1


What are the age requirements for 72?

You must be between the ages of 18-35


What if I can’t make an event?

You can miss up to four events. Upon your fifth absence, you will be dismissed from the program. 7:14 Prayer Gatherings are not counted against you.


How far out do I need to let the Initiative staff know that I cannot make an event?

In order to help our processes, please let us know by 24 hours before or after the event.


What happens if you miss more than four unexcused absences?

We have a check-in process for our events. If you miss four times without communicating with us you will be dismissed from the program.


Why is there such a high requirement for attendance and commitment?

As Jesus has said, let your "yes" be "yes" and "no" be "no" (Matt. 5:37). We see a clear example of commitment in the Bible in God's commitment to us (Deut. 31:6). Therefore, we believe in holding our staff and members to a high level of accountability when it comes to participation and attendance.


Is there an membership fee?

Yes, two payments of $50. Upon acceptance into the program, payment 1 is due by Sept. 1, 2017 and payment 2 is due by Dec. 1, 2017.


What does my membership fee cover?

Your membership fee contributes to acquiring food and materials needed for events, to reserving venues for events, and helps pay for the unique training that we provide for developing local missionaries.


What will the training look like?

The areas we want to develop you in centers around being a local mission. Specifically a local missionary who is Christ-loving, city-changing, church-investing, and disciple-making. Training will consist of the following: monthly accountability, influential guest speakers, serving in the city, and developing your ability to communicate effectively as a leader.


How many people are chosen to be in 72?

Unfortunately, we can only accept 72 so we have to turn some people away. Be sure to take the application and your references seriously.


Can I edit the application after turning it in?

Yes, if you have adjustments, please contact 72@initiativenetwork.org


Will my references be contacted? How and when?

The Initiative team will reach out your reference if they deem it necessary to gain further clarification concerning you and your application. References will be contacted through the information that they provide. They will be contacted at some point prior to deciding the new 72 class.


When will I be notified of the decision regarding my application?

The new class will be announced on August 14, 2017


If an applicant is accepted to the program and has paid the $100 member fee but due to unforeseen circumstances has to leave the program, will their $100 be refunded?
