Why is it called 72?

“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” | Luke 10:1


What are the age requirements for 72?

You must be between the ages of 18-35.


What is the time commitment and participation requirement of 72?

2-3 mandatory events per month

Monthly Missional Mirror submission with 2x2 partner

1-2 optional events per month


What are the attendance expectations?

You can miss up to 4 mandatory events during the program. Upon your 5th absence, a director will talk with you to work through any schedule changes and possible adjustments that can be made.  We realize that life can get crazy and can change overnight and it's our desire to be understanding and extend grace while also remembering the importance of keeping commitments.  

7:14 Prayer Gatherings, Future Family Night, and VOX is not counted against you.


Why is there such a high requirement for attendance and commitment?

A majority of the content of our program is presented within the framework our events.

As Jesus has said, let your "yes" be "yes" and "no" be "no" (Matt. 5:37). We see a clear example of commitment in the Bible in God's commitment to us (Deut. 31:6). Therefore, we believe in holding our staff and members to a high level of accountability when it comes to participation and attendance.


Is there a membership fee?

The fee will be $72 for applications submitted before July 1st.

The fee will increase to $100 for applications submitted after July 1st.

This fee will be due after acceptance into the program. Payment plans are available upon request.


Throughout the program there will be cost for food, activities, and new years retreat.


What will the training look like?

The areas we want to develop you in centers around being a local missionary. Specifically, a local missionary who is Christ-loving, city-changing, church-investing, and disciple-making. Training will consist of the following: monthly accountability, influential guest speakers, serving in the city, and developing your ability to communicate effectively as a leader.


How many people are chosen to be in 72?

Unfortunately, we can only accept 72 so we have to turn some people away. Be sure to take the application and your references seriously.


Can I edit the application after turning it in?

Yes, if you have adjustments, please contact 72@initiativenetwork.org.


Will my references be contacted? How and when?

The Initiative team will reach out to your references if they deem it necessary to gain further clarification concerning you and your application. References will be contacted through the information that they provide. They will be contacted at some point prior to your acceptance in to the 72 class.


What is the schedule for the Class 6 application process?

Class 6 applications will open in April.
Applications will close August 1.
Acceptance and rejection notifications will be sent mid-August.

If an applicant is accepted to the program and has paid the membership fee but due to unforeseen circumstances has to leave the program, will their fee be refunded?
